Iberogast, drops, 20 ml is a herbal medicine for use in the treatment of functional (gastrointestinal) disorders related to the motility (transit) of the gastrointestinal tract, such as functional dyspepsia (indigestion) or irritable bowel syndrome.


Action

Iberogast reduces the feeling of fullness, flatulence, and weakens stomach and intestinal spasms. Iberogast has anti-inflammatory, carminative, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Iberogast increases the concentration of prostaglandins and mucins that protect the mucous membrane, and reduces the concentration of leukotrienes that destroy the mucous membrane. It inhibits the secretion of gastric juice by the parietal cells of the stomach.


Indications

Iberogast is used in diseases of the stomach and intestines related to disorders in their peristaltic movements and secretion of digestive juices.

Iberogast is indicated in:

stomach and intestinal cramps,
irritable bowel syndrome,
stomach irritation.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine Iberogast.

Iberogast is not recommended for children under 6 years of age. In children under 6 years of age, any abdominal pain should be consulted with a doctor.

Warnings and precautions

If you experience yellowing of your skin or eyes, dark urine, discolored stools, or upper abdominal pain, stop taking Iberogast immediately and consult your doctor. These may be signs of liver damage.

Patients with known liver disease should consult their doctor before taking Iberogast.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days of taking Iberogast, see your doctor to rule out other serious illnesses.
